Pictures from Ngepi Camp
October 1 Grootfontein, Divundu, Ngepi
We stopped in the town of Grootfontein to buy supplies. While we were there we walked around looking at various areas of the town. This is the front of one of the more upscale residences, with many colourful tropical plants.
As we travelled farther north, we crossed into the area where foot-and-mouth disease cannot be controlled. Here there is no large-scale farming, only small-scale agriculture around many small villages.
Our destination for the day between Etosha and the Okavango Delta was Ngepi Camp, which was on the bank of the Okavango River in the Caprivi Strip.
The owners of the camp had installed a quirky set of bathing facilities. This is the “Starry Bath” where you can bathe under the stars. Apparently it is fully functional although we did not try it.
