Tatra Circuit 2008

SvistiAfter we completed Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk across England in May, we decided we liked the long-distance walking concept, so we looked around to see what to do next. We noted what Wainwright himself said about his walk: “I want to encourage in others the ambition to devise with the aid of maps their own cross-country marathons and not be merely followers of other people’s routes.”

We don’t remember when or why the Tatras came to our attention, but the more we read about them the more we were interested. We had about two and a half weeks, so where should we hike? Well, everywhere, of course. The range isn’t very large so it should be possible to walk right around it. That was the birth of the “Tatra Circuit” idea.

So we did. And we posted our daily diaries in blog form on the Travelpod site. Now we have repatriated them to WordPress, and here are links to those entries:
